Take Me Down To China Town (photos)
Written by Sean Mitchell on August 4, 2011
Ok, so a weekend or two ago, I was up in the Bay Area with the wife. While there we had to make the obligatory stop by China Town. Love that place! The colors, the energy, the food, the people…don’t know how to put my finger on it, but I dig it.
So, here’s a few photos I took while there…hope you like them.
You can tell I was having a ‘little’ fun with some filters…
That being said, the sky and clouds were pretty magical looking that day.

Was loving the colors in this one…

Wondering if Dragon Seed trumps Tiger Blood…
Scored a bag of herbs…from the local Chinese Medicine Doc.
I actually got a prescription for the above…

Some guy playing some old school beats…

Not sure where this ended up, but liked how it looked.

More colors…and those cool overhead lamps you see everywhere.

Their street lights have the ‘ornate’ vibe down pat…
Colors, bubbles and flags, oh my…
Ok…so for the images below, you can tell I really liked those overhead lamps…
and then I had more fun with filters:
OK…that’s enough of that right? I have half a dozen other filtered variations of this image that are wildly different in colors/textures. Holler if you’re interested and I’ll put those up.
So let me end this photo/post with some discussion of food. China Town & Chinese food are a must combination. However, did you know that they have an amazing vegan Chinese restaurant? Yup, they sure do and the food rocks. If you find yourself in this neck of the woods and want to get your compassionate, healthy, hippie self on…stop by the Loving Hut. (highly recommended)
And here’s a little Vegan propaganda that you’ll noticed on the window when you show up…Some people think Veganism is some new hippie fad…apparently it might have been around for a little while. <Disclaimer: I’m a Flexitarian with a pesca lacto-ovo bend… but am wanting to dip more into the Vegan/Raw world as of late…wifey’s been a Vegan for years, I think she plays subliminals on me when I’m sleeping

Now for any of you considering adding more Vegan dishes into your consumption space…get ready for a shameless plug. The wife will be putting out her ‘top 10′ recipe book in the next 6 months. It will cover her top 10 for “Road Food, House Food, Party Food and Raw Food”… If you’re interested in an advanced copy when it comes out you can signup for the ‘heads up email’ over at VeganRecipesThatDontSuck.com <yes that is the title we came up with>…then scroll down on the site and put your name and email into that form.
/end shameless plug
Take care and have a great rest of the weekend!
