Google Fresh Update – Always Be Caring, Giving or Sharing
Written by Sean Mitchell on November 9, 2011

So I’m having a little fun and spin on a scene from the 1992 movie with Alec Baldwin, “Glengarry Glen Ross.”
He goes on a pretty wild rant about “Always Be Closing” and in today’s post I want to encourage you to:
A – Always
B – Be
C – Caring
(aka Giving or Sharing)
Why the pitch Sean?
Simple… One of the newest updates from Google is being referred to as Google Fresh. If you’d like to read more on it check out this article at Web Pro News: “SEO Experts React to Google Algorithm Update” One of the lines from that article that I’m going to focus on is this…
“One of the most important takeaways from the video is how they believe timestamps, specifically in the XML sitemaps could see a boost in terms of importance. A trend you’ll notice as you read more reactions.”
I would like to encourage you to test this by sharing more often. Do you suppose Google might reward you with an increase in rankings and listings? Quite possibly. However, even if Google doesn’t give a ton of extra love based on this element of their recent update…are you doing the right thing by sharing with your audience? Are you focused on giving great content that could be useful for them? I want to encourage you to do that as often as possible. Always BE Caring.
Sharing content that is truly useful will grow traction for your business regardless of Google. If people are inspired by your content and usefulness they will often feel compelled to share it by mouth, by email, etc.
If you focus on how you can be of service to the most people…in the end you will be served. Front load your mission on how you can be of service to people.
Have a great day!
